Green Hub

Privacy

Last updated: 10 September 2026

This page states plainly what Green Hub does with your data: what is kept, who else receives it, and how to erase everything.

In short: without an account, nothing leaves your device except the photo you send for identification. With an account, your garden is visible to you only. No data is sold or passed on for advertising.

Without an account: your trial stays on your device

You can identify a plant without creating an account. Your trial (the plant, its sheet, your photos) is then stored in this device's browser, and nowhere else. It is not sent to us, we cannot read it, and it disappears if you clear the site's data.

One necessary exception: the photo you submit goes to the identification services listed below, for as long as it takes to recognise the species and write the sheet.

With an account: what is stored

Who else receives your data

Green Hub cannot recognise a plant on its own: it relies on outside services. Here is the complete list.

RecipientWhat it receivesWhy
PlantNet (France)your plant's photorecognise the species
Google Gemini (Ireland / United States)the photo and the plant namewrite the care sheet, answer in the chat
OpenRouter, Anthropicthe same data, only if the first one failskeep the service running when Gemini does not answer
Google (sign-in)your e-mail, your name, your profile picturesign you in, and tie your garden to your account
Google Analyticsanonymised visit statisticscount visits — only if you accept

The three AI services are listed together because they stand in for each other: if the first does not answer, the request goes to the next. We cannot guarantee which one will handle a given photo.

For how long

Your data stays for as long as you keep your account. There is no automatic deletion after X months: you decide, and you can erase everything whenever you want from the section below.
